Dr Clayton Cowl of the world-famous Mayo Clinic gives a helpful insight into the various strains of coronaviruses that have been known for some time and the ‘novel’ Sars-CoV-2 virus which causes the COVID-19 disease in this video update from Spring 2020:
One of the points that Dr. Cowl makes is about the characteristic ‘spikes’ that most of us have seen on the images of the coronavirus that they are sticky and in this is an interesting point; namely that where dirt or a dirty surface exists then potentially that surface is a danger area for retaining the virus particles.
